For the music director; a psalm of David. How long, LORD, will you continue to ignore me? How long will you pay no attention to me? | 1For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. LORD, how long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? |
How long must I worry, and suffer in broad daylight? How long will my enemy gloat over me? | 2How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me? |
Look at me! Answer me, O LORD my God! Revive me, or else I will die! | 3Consider me and answer, LORD my God. Restore brightness to my eyes; otherwise, I will sleep in death. |
Then my enemy will say, "I have defeated him!" Then my foes will rejoice because I am upended. | 4My enemy will say, "I have triumphed over him," and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken. |
But I trust in your faithfulness. May I rejoice because of your deliverance! | 5But I have trusted in Your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. |
I will sing praises to the LORD when he vindicates me. | 6I will sing to the LORD because He has treated me generously. |
