You who sit enthroned above the winged angels, reveal your splendor! | 1Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth. |
| 2In the sight of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh reveal your power! Come and deliver us! | 2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might and come to save us! |
| 3O God, restore us! Smile on us! Then we will be delivered! | 3Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! |
| 4O LORD God, invincible warrior! How long will you remain angry at your people while they pray to you? | 4O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers? |
| 5You have given them tears as food; you have made them drink tears by the measure. | 5You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure. |
| 6You have made our neighbors dislike us, and our enemies insult us. | 6You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves. |

| 8You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it. | 8You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. |
| 9You cleared the ground for it; it took root, and filled the land. | 9You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land. |
| 10The mountains were covered by its shadow, the highest cedars by its branches. | 10The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. |
| 11Its branches reached the Mediterranean Sea, and its shoots the Euphrates River. | 11It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River. |

| 15the root your right hand planted, the shoot you made to grow! | 15the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself. |
| 16It is burned and cut down. They die because you are displeased with them. | 16They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face! |
| 17May you give support to the one you have chosen, to the one whom you raised up for yourself! | 17But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! |
