9Their territory started from Aroer (on the edge of the Arnon Valley), included the city in the middle of the valley, the whole plain of Medeba as far as Dibon, | 9The area from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the valley, the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon, |
10and all the cities of King Sihon of the Amorites who ruled in Heshbon, and ended at the Ammonite border. | 10and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the Ammonites; |

12the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who ruled in Ashtaroth and Edrei. (He was one of the few remaining Rephaites.) 14However, Moses did not assign land as an inheritance to the Levites; their inheritance is the sacrificial offerings made to the LORD God of Israel, as he instructed them. | 14To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, just as He had promised them. |
15Moses assigned land to the tribe of Reuben by its clans. | 15This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Reuben: |

23The border of the tribe of Reuben was the Jordan. 24Moses assigned land to the tribe of Gad by its clans. | 24This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Gad: |
25Their territory included Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half of Ammonite territory as far as Aroer near Rabbah. | 25The territory of Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, near Rabbah; |

29Moses assigned land to the half-tribe of Manasseh by its clans. | 29This is what Moses had given to the clans of the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the tribe of the descendants of Manasseh: |
30Their territory started at Mahanaim and encompassed all Bashan, the whole realm of King Og of Bashan, including all sixty cities in Havvoth Jair in Bashan. | 30The territory from Mahanaim through all Bashan—all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, including all the towns of Jair that are in Bashan, sixty cities; |
31Half of Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities in the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were assigned to the descendants of Makir son of Manasseh, to half the descendants of Makir by their clans. | 31half of Gilead; and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan. All this was for the clans of the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh, that is, half of the descendants of Machir. |
32These are the land assignments made by Moses on the plains of Moab east of the Jordan River opposite Jericho. | 32These were the portions Moses had given them on the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan, east of Jericho. |
33However, Moses did not assign land as an inheritance to the Levites; their inheritance is the LORD God of Israel, as he instructed them. | 33To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, just as He had promised them. |
