New American Standard Bible 1995 | New International Version |
A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD. | 1A song of ascents. Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD; |
Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. | 2Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. |
If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? | 3If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? |
But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. | 4But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. |
I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope. | 5I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. |
My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning. | 6I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. |
O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. | 7Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. |
And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities. | 8He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins. |
