For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. O LORD, You showed favor to Your land; You restored the captivity of Jacob. | 1For the music director; written by the Korahites, a psalm. O LORD, you showed favor to your land; you restored the well-being of Jacob. |
You forgave the iniquity of Your people; You covered all their sin. Selah. | 2You pardoned the wrongdoing of your people; you forgave all their sin. (Selah) |
You withdrew all Your fury; You turned away from Your burning anger. | 3You withdrew all your fury; you turned back from your raging anger. |
Restore us, O God of our salvation, And cause Your indignation toward us to cease. | 4Restore us, O God our deliverer! Do not be displeased with us! |
Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? | 5Will you stay mad at us forever? Will you remain angry throughout future generations? |
Will You not Yourself revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? | 6Will you not revive us once more? Then your people will rejoice in you! |
Show us Your lovingkindness, O LORD, And grant us Your salvation. | 7O LORD, show us your loyal love! Bestow on us your deliverance! |
I will hear what God the LORD will say; For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones; But let them not turn back to folly. | 8I will listen to what God the LORD says. For he will make peace with his people, his faithful followers. Yet they must not return to their foolish ways. |
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land. | 9Certainly his loyal followers will soon experience his deliverance; then his splendor will again appear in our land. |
Lovingkindness and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. | 10Loyal love and faithfulness meet; deliverance and peace greet each other with a kiss. |
Truth springs from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven. | 11Faithfulness grows from the ground, and deliverance looks down from the sky. |
Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, And our land will yield its produce. | 12Yes, the LORD will bestow his good blessings, and our land will yield its crops. |
Righteousness will go before Him And will make His footsteps into a way. | 13Deliverance goes before him, and prepares a pathway for him. |
