NASB Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995King James Bible
"At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.1At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
"Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.2Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
"Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth.3He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
"After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.4After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
"God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.5God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
"For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,' And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'6For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
"He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.7He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
"Then the beast goes into its lair And remains in its den.8Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
"Out of the south comes the storm, And out of the north the cold.9Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
"From the breath of God ice is made, And the expanse of the waters is frozen.10By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
"Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.11Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
"It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.12And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
"Whether for correction, or for His world, Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.13He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
"Listen to this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.14Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
"Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?15Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
"Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,16Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?17How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
"Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a molten mirror?18Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
"Teach us what we shall say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of darkness.19Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
"Shall it be told Him that I would speak? Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up?20Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
"Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.21And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
"Out of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.22Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
"The Almighty-- we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.23Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
"Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart."24Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
