King James Bible | NET Bible |
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. | 1How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers! |
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. | 2Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the LORD's commands; he meditates on his commands day and night. |
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. | 3He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts. |
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. | 4Not so with the wicked! Instead they are like wind-driven chaff. |
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. | 5For this reason the wicked cannot withstand judgment, nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. |
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. | 6Certainly the LORD guards the way of the godly, but the way of the wicked ends in destruction. |
