Psalm 80
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
To the chief Musician upon ShoshannimEduth, A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.1Shepherd of Israel, listen! The one who leads Joseph like a flock, the one enthroned on the cherubim, display your glory.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.2Reveal your power before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, then come to our rescue.
Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.3God, restore us, show your favor and deliver us.
O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?4LORD God of the Heavenly Armies, when will your smoldering anger toward your people's prayers cease?
Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.5You fed them tears as their food, and caused them to drink a full measure of tears.
Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.6You have set us at strife against our neighbors and our enemies deride us.
Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.7God of the Heavenly Armies, restore us and show your favor, so we may be delivered.
Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.8You uprooted a vine from Egypt, and drove out nations to transplant it.
Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.9You cleared the ground so that its roots grew and filled the land.
The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.10Mountains were covered by its shadows, and the mighty cedars by its branches.
She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.11Its branches spread out to the Mediterranean Sea and its shoots to the Euphrates River.
Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?12Why did you break down its walls so that those who pass by pluck its fruits?
The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.13Wild boars of the forest gnaw at it, and creatures of the field feed on it.
Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;14God of the Heavenly Armies, return! Look down from heaven and see. Show care toward this vine.
And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.15The root that your right hand planted, the shoot that you tended for yourself,
It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.16was burned with fire, cut off, and destroyed on account of your rebuke.
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.17May you support the man at your right hand; the son of man whom you have raised for yourself.
So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.18Then we will not turn away from you. Restore us, so we can call upon your name.
Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.19God of hosts, restore to us the light of your favor. Then we'll be delivered.
