1In reply, Job responded: | 1Then Job replied: |
2"What a help you are to the weak! How powerfully you deliver those without strength! | 2"How you have helped the powerless! How you have saved the person who has no strength! |
3What counsel you provide to the fool! What insight you provide so abundantly! | 3How you have advised the one without wisdom, and abundantly revealed your insight! |
4Who helped you say all of this? Who inspired you?" | 4To whom did you utter these words? And whose spirit has come forth from your mouth? |
5"The ghosts of the dead writhe under the waters along with those who live there with them. | 5"The dead tremble--those beneath the waters and all that live in them. |
6Sheol is naked before God and Abaddon has no clothes. | 6The underworld is naked before God; the place of destruction lies uncovered. |
