| 1LORD, listen and answer me, for I am afflicted and needy. | 1A Prayer of David. Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy. |
| 2Protect me, for I am faithful; My God, deliver your servant who trusts in you. | 2Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. |
| 3Have mercy on me Lord, for I call on you all day long. | 3Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. |
| 4Your servant rejoices, because, Lord, I set my hope on you. | 4Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. |
| 5Indeed you, Lord, are kind and forgiving, overflowing with gracious love to everyone who calls on you. | 5For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. |
| 6Hear my prayer, LORD; attend to my prayer of supplication. | 6Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. |
| 7In my troubled times I will call on you, for you will answer me. | 7In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. |
| 8No one can compare with you among the gods, Lord; No one can accomplish your work. | 8Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. |
| 9All the nations that you have established will come and worship you, my Lord. They will honor your name. | 9All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. |
| 10For you are great, and you are doing awesome things; you alone are God. | 10For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. |
| 11Teach me your ways, LORD, that I may walk in your truth; let me wholeheartedly revere your name. | 11Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. |
| 12I will praise you, Lord my God, with my whole being; and I will honor your name continuously. | 12I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. |
| 13For great is your gracious love to me; you've delivered me from the depths of Sheol. | 13For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. |
| 14God, arrogant men rise up against me, while a company of ruthless individuals want to kill me. They do not have regard for you. | 14O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them. |
| 15But you, Lord, are a compassionate God, merciful and patient, with unending gracious love and faithfulness. | 15But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. |
| 16Return to me and have mercy on me; clothe your servant with your strength and deliver the son of your maid servant. | 16O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. |
| 17Show me a sign of your goodness, so that those who hate me will see it and be ashamed. For you, LORD, will help and comfort me. | 17Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me. |
