To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. | 1Of David. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. |
O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. | 2I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. |
Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. | 3No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. |
Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. | 4Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. |
Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. | 5Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. |
Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. | 6Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. |
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD! | 7Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good. |
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. | 8Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. |
He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. | 9He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. |
All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. | 10All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. |
For your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great. | 11For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. |
Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. | 12Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. |
His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. | 13They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. |
The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. | 14The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. |
My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. | 15My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. |
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. | 16Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. |
The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. | 17Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. |
Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. | 18Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. |
Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. | 19See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me! |
Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. | 20Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. |
May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. | 21May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you. |
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. | 22Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles! |
