| 1LORD, hear my prayer. In your faithfulness listen to my plea, and in your righteousness answer me. | 1Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. |
| 2Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous in your sight. | 2Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. |
| 3For the enemy has pursued me, crushing me to the ground, making me live in darkness like those long dead. | 3My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. |
| 4My spirit is weak within me; my heart is overcome with dismay. | 4I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. |
| 5I remember the days of old; I meditate on all you have done; I reflect on the work of your hands. | 5I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. |
