| 1God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you. I thirst for you; my body faints for you in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. | 1A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. |
| 2So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory. | 2Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. |
| 3My lips will glorify you because your faithful love is better than life. | 3Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. |
| 4So I will bless you as long as I live; at your name, I will lift up my hands. | 4So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. |
| 5You satisfy me as with rich food; my mouth will praise you with joyful lips. | 5My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips. |
| 6When I think of you as I lie on my bed, I meditate on you during the night watches | 6When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, |
| 7because you are my helper; I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings. | 7For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. |
| 8I follow close to you; your right hand holds on to me. | 8My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me. |
| 9But those who intend to destroy my life will go into the depths of the earth. | 9But those who seek my life to destroy it, Will go into the depths of the earth. |
| 10They will be given over to the power of the sword; they will become a meal for jackals. | 10They will be delivered over to the power of the sword; They will be a prey for foxes. |
| 11But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by him will boast, for the mouths of liars will be shut. | 11But the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will glory, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped. |
