May the LORD answer you in a day of trouble; may the name of Jacob's God protect you. | 1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high! |
May he send you help from the sanctuary and sustain you from Zion. | 2May He send you help from the sanctuary And support you from Zion! |
May he remember all your offerings and accept your burnt offering. Selah | 3May He remember all your meal offerings And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah. |
May he give you what your heart desires and fulfill your whole purpose. | 4May He grant you your heart's desire And fulfill all your counsel! |
Let us shout for joy at your victory and lift the banner in the name of our God. May the LORD fulfill all your requests. | 5We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. |
Now I know that the LORD gives victory to his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories from his right hand. | 6Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. |
Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of the LORD our God. | 7Some boast in chariots and some in horses, But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. |
They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm. | 8They have bowed down and fallen, But we have risen and stood upright. |
LORD, give victory to the king! May he answer us on the day that we call. | 9Save, O LORD; May the King answer us in the day we call. |
