| 2How joyful is a person whom the LORD does not charge with iniquity and in whose spirit is no deceit! | 2How blessed is the person against whom the LORD does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. |
| 3When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day long. | 3When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away by my groaning all day long. |
| 4For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was drained as in the summer's heat. Selah | 4For your hand was heavy upon me day and night; my strength was exhausted as in a summer drought. Interlude |
| 5Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not conceal my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the guilt of my sin. | 10Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the LORD will have faithful love surrounding him. | 10The wicked have many sorrows, but gracious love surrounds those who trust in the LORD. |
| 11Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones; shout for joy, all you upright in heart. | 11Righteous ones, be glad in the LORD and rejoice! Shout for joy, all of you who are upright in heart! |
