1The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron—four in all.1The four sons of Issachar were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, the heads of their families. In the days of David, 22,600 descendants of Tola were numbered in their genealogies as mighty men of valor.2The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel. Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. At the time of King David, the total number of mighty warriors listed in the records of these clans was 22,600.
3The son of Uzzi: Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. All five of them were chiefs.3The son of Uzzi was Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. These five became the leaders of clans.
4In addition to them, according to their genealogy, they had 36,000 troops for battle, for they had many wives and children.4All of them had many wives and many sons, so the total number of men available for military service among their descendants was 36,000.
5Their kinsmen belonging to all the families of Issachar who were mighty men of valor totaled 87,000, as listed in their genealogies.5The total number of mighty warriors from all the clans of the tribe of Issachar was 87,000. 6The three sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, and Jediael.6Three of Benjamin’s sons were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7The sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri, heads of their families—five in all. There were 22,034 mighty men of valor listed in their genealogies.7The five sons of Bela were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. The total number of mighty warriors from these clans was 22,034, as listed in their genealogical records.
8The sons of Becher: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth; all these were Becher’s sons.8The sons of Beker were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.
9Their genealogies were recorded according to the heads of their families—20,200 mighty men of valor.9Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. The total number of mighty warriors and leaders from these clans was 20,200, as listed in their genealogical records.
10The son of Jediael: Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.10The son of Jediael was Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11All these sons of Jediael were heads of their families, mighty men of valor; there were 17,200 fit for battle.11Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. From these clans the total number of mighty warriors ready for war was 17,200.
12The Shuppites and Huppites were descendants of Ir, and the Hushites were descendants of Aher.12The sons of Ir were Shuppim and Huppim. Hushim was the son of Aher. Descendants of Naphtali
13The sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum—the descendants of Bilhah.13The sons of Naphtali were Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of Jacob’s concubine Bilhah. Descendants of Manasseh
14The descendants of Manasseh: Through his Aramean concubine, Asriel, as well as Machir the father of Gilead.14The descendants of Manasseh through his Aramean concubine included Asriel. She also bore Makir, the father of Gilead.
15Machir took a wife from among the Huppites and Shuppites. The name of his sister was Maacah. Another descendant was named Zelophehad, who had only daughters.15Makir found wives for Huppim and Shuppim. Makir had a sister named Maacah. One of his descendants was Zelophehad, who had only daughters.
16Machir’s wife Maacah gave birth to a son, and she named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rekem.16Makir’s wife, Maacah, gave birth to a son whom she named Peresh. His brother’s name was Sheresh. The sons of Peresh were Ulam and Rakem.
17The son of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.17The son of Ulam was Bedan. All these were considered Gileadites, descendants of Makir son of Manasseh.
18His sister Hammolecheth gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.18Makir’s sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19And these were the sons of Shemida: Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.19The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam. Descendants of Ephraim
20The descendants of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son,20The descendants of Ephraim were Shuthelah, Bered, Tahath, Eleadah, Tahath,
21Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son. Ezer and Elead were killed by the natives of Gath, because they went down to steal their livestock.21Zabad, Shuthelah, Ezer, and Elead. These two were killed trying to steal livestock from the local farmers near Gath.
22Their father Ephraim mourned for many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.22Their father, Ephraim, mourned for them a long time, and his relatives came to comfort him.
23And again he slept with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. So he named him Beriah, because tragedy had come upon his house.23Afterward Ephraim slept with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah because of the tragedy his family had suffered.
24His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth-horon, as well as Uzzen-sheerah.24He had a daughter named Sheerah. She built the towns of Lower and Upper Beth-horon and Uzzen-sheerah.
25Additionally, Rephah was his son, Resheph his son, Telah his son, Tahan his son,25The descendants of Ephraim included Rephah, Resheph, Telah, Tahan,
26Ladan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son,26Ladan, Ammihud, Elishama,
27Nun his son, and Joshua his son.27Nun, and Joshua.
28Their holdings and settlements included Bethel and its villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages as far as Ayyah and its villages.28The descendants of Ephraim lived in the territory that included Bethel and its surrounding towns to the south, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its surrounding villages to the north as far as Ayyah and its towns.
29And along the borders of Manasseh were Beth-shean, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, together with their villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns.29Along the border of Manasseh were the towns of Beth-shan, Taanach, Megiddo, Dor, and their surrounding villages. 30The children of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah.30The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. They had a sister named Serah.
31The sons of Beriah: Heber, as well as Malchiel, who was the father of Birzaith.31The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malkiel (the father of Birzaith).
32Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham, and of their sister Shua.32The sons of Heber were Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. They had a sister named Shua.
33The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were Japhlet’s sons.33The sons of Japhlet were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.
34The sons of Shemer: Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.34The sons of Shomer were Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35The sons of his brother Helem: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.35The sons of his brother Helem were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.

40All these were the descendants of Asher—heads of their families, choice and mighty men of valor, and chiefs among the leaders. The number of men fit for battle, recorded in their genealogies, was 26,000.40Each of these descendants of Asher was the head of an ancestral clan. They were all select men—mighty warriors and outstanding leaders. The total number of men available for military service was 26,000, as listed in their genealogical records.
