And I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing upon Mount Zion and with Him a hundred forty four thousand (144, 000), having His name and the name of His Father, having been written upon their foreheads.
And I heard a voice from out of heaven like as the voice (sound) of many waters and like as the voice (sound) of great thunder. And the voice (sound) that I heard was like as harpists harping with their harps.
And they are singing like as a new song in the sight of the throne and in the sight of the four living creatures, and the elders. And no one was able to learn the song, except the hundred forty four thousand, having been redeemed from the earth.
These are they who have not been defiled (stained) with women; for they are virgins (latin-virgines, word is masculine). These following the Lamb wherever He shall go. These have been redeemed from men as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb:
And in their mouth was not found a lie; they are unblemished [not in some translations- in the sight of the throne of God]. 6And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven having the everlasting gospel (glad tidings) to preach upon those seated upon the earth and upon every ethnicity and tribe and tongue and people; 7Saying with a great voice, Fear God and give Him glory because the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him having made heaven, and the earth, and sea, and springs of waters. 8And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, Fallen, Fallen is Babylon the great; she has given to all the ethnicities to drink from out of the wine of the passion (heated outburst) of her fornication (sexual immorality). 9And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a great voice, If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark upon his forehead or upon his hand, 10He also will drink from out of the wine of the passion (heated outburst) of God having been mixed undiluted (possibly poured out unmixed) in the cup of His wrath; and he will be tormented in fire and brimstone in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb. 11And the smoke of their torment goes up unto ages of ages; and they have no rest day and night, those worshipping the beast and its image and if anyone receives the mark of its name. 12Here is the endurance of the saints, those keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13And I heard a voice from out of heaven, saying, Write, Blessed are the dead dying in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, so that they will rest from out of their labors; for their works do follow with them. 14And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and the one sitting upon the cloud was similar to a son of man having upon his head a golden crown and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15And another angel came out from out of the temple crying with a great voice to the one sitting upon the cloud, Put forth (send) your sickle and reap; because the hour to reap has come, since the harvest of the earth has ripened. 16And the one sitting upon the cloud put forth his sickle upon the earth and the earth was harvested. 17And another angel came from out of the temple in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18And another angel came from out of the altar having authority over (upon) the fire and he called out with a great voice to the one having the sharp sickle, saying, Put forth your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth; because its grapes have fully ripened. 19And the angel put forth his sickle unto the earth and gathered the vine of the earth and cast them into the great wine-press of the passion (heated outburst) of God; hundred miles, one stadia equals 1/8 of a mile). 20And the winepress was trodden outside the city and blood flowed from out of the winepress as far as the bridles of the horses for one thousand six hundred (1,600) stadia (200 miles, one stadia equals 1/8 of a mile). |
