Christ gave an awful warning against speaking such dangerous words. It is true the gospel promises, because Christ has purchased, forgiveness for the greatest sins and sinners; but by this sin, they would oppose the gifts of the Holy Ghost after Christ's ascension. Jesus, not in league with Satan or Beelzebub, but overmastering him, and taking possession of his goods, human souls. Mark 3:27Spoil (διαρπάσαι) Mark uses the stronger and more vivid compound verb, where Matthew employs the simple ἁρπάσαι. The verb means, primarily, to tear in pieces; to carry away, as the wind; to efface, as footstePsalms So, generally, to seize as plunder, snatching right and left. The special object of the robber may be precious vessels of gold or silver; but the word is probably used in its general sense of household gear.
