1Then the LORD said to Moses, 1וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
2“Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land of Canaan, it will be allotted to you as an inheritance with these boundaries: 2צַ֞ו אֶת־ בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כִּֽי־ אַתֶּ֥ם בָּאִ֖ים אֶל־ הָאָ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן זֹ֣את הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּפֹּ֤ל לָכֶם֙ בְּֽנַחֲלָ֔ה אֶ֥רֶץ כְּנַ֖עַן לִגְבֻלֹתֶֽיהָ׃
3Your southern border will extend from the wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom. On the east, your southern border will extend from the end of the Salt Sea, 3וְהָיָ֨ה לָכֶ֧ם פְּאַת־ נֶ֛גֶב מִמִּדְבַּר־ צִ֖ן עַל־ יְדֵ֣י אֱד֑וֹם וְהָיָ֤ה לָכֶם֙ גְּב֣וּל נֶ֔גֶב מִקְצֵ֥ה יָם־ הַמֶּ֖לַח קֵֽדְמָה׃
4turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and go south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it will go on to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon, 4וְנָסַ֣ב לָכֶם֩ הַגְּב֨וּל מִנֶּ֜גֶב לְמַעֲלֵ֤ה עַקְרַבִּים֙ וְעָ֣בַר צִ֔נָה [והיה] (וְהָיוּ֙) תּֽוֹצְאֹתָ֔יו מִנֶּ֖גֶב לְקָדֵ֣שׁ בַּרְנֵ֑עַ וְיָצָ֥א חֲצַר־ אַדָּ֖ר וְעָבַ֥ר עַצְמֹֽנָה׃
5where [it] will turn from Azmon, join the Brook of Egypt, and end at the Sea. 5וְנָסַ֧ב הַגְּב֛וּל מֵעַצְמ֖וֹן נַ֣חְלָה מִצְרָ֑יִם וְהָי֥וּ תוֹצְאֹתָ֖יו הַיָּֽמָּה׃
6Your western border will be the coastline of the Great Sea; this will be your boundary on the west. 6וּגְב֣וּל יָ֔ם וְהָיָ֥ה לָכֶ֛ם הַיָּ֥ם הַגָּד֖וֹל וּגְב֑וּל זֶֽה־ יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם גְּב֥וּל יָֽם׃
7Your northern border will run from the Great Sea directly to Mount Hor, 7וְזֶֽה־ יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם גְּב֣וּל צָפ֑וֹן מִן־ הַיָּם֙ הַגָּדֹ֔ל תְּתָא֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם הֹ֥ר הָהָֽר׃
8and from Mount Hor to Lebo-hamath, [then] extending to Zedad, 8מֵהֹ֣ר הָהָ֔ר תְּתָא֖וּ לְבֹ֣א חֲמָ֑ת וְהָי֛וּ תּוֹצְאֹ֥ת הַגְּבֻ֖ל צְדָֽדָה׃
9continuing to Ziphron, and ending at Hazar-enan. This will be your boundary on the north. 9וְיָצָ֤א הַגְּבֻל֙ זִפְרֹ֔נָה וְהָי֥וּ תוֹצְאֹתָ֖יו חֲצַ֣ר עֵינָ֑ן זֶֽה־ יִהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם גְּב֥וּל צָפֽוֹן׃
10And your eastern border will run straight from Hazar-enan to Shepham, 10וְהִתְאַוִּיתֶ֥ם לָכֶ֖ם לִגְב֣וּל קֵ֑דְמָה מֵחֲצַ֥ר עֵינָ֖ן שְׁפָֽמָה׃
11[then] go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Chinnereth. 11וְיָרַ֨ד הַגְּבֻ֧ל מִשְּׁפָ֛ם הָרִבְלָ֖ה מִקֶּ֣דֶם לָעָ֑יִן וְיָרַ֣ד הַגְּב֔וּל וּמָחָ֛ה עַל־ כֶּ֥תֶף יָם־ כִּנֶּ֖רֶת קֵֽדְמָה׃
12Then the border will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, defined by its borders on all sides.” 12וְיָרַ֤ד הַגְּבוּל֙ הַיַּרְדֵּ֔נָה וְהָי֥וּ תוֹצְאֹתָ֖יו יָ֣ם הַמֶּ֑לַח זֹאת֩ תִּהְיֶ֨ה לָכֶ֥ם הָאָ֛רֶץ לִגְבֻלֹתֶ֖יהָ סָבִֽיב׃
13So Moses commanded the Israelites, “{Apportion} this land by lot as an inheritance, which the LORD commanded to be given to the nine and a half tribes. 13וַיְצַ֣ו מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֶת־ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר זֹ֣את הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּתְנַחֲל֤וּ אֹתָהּ֙ בְּגוֹרָ֔ל אֲשֶׁר֙ צִוָּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה לָתֵ֛ת לְתִשְׁעַ֥ת הַמַּטּ֖וֹת וַחֲצִ֥י הַמַּטֶּֽה׃
14For the tribes of the Reubenites [and] Gadites, along with the half-tribe of Manasseh, have already received their inheritance. 14כִּ֣י לָקְח֞וּ מַטֵּ֨ה בְנֵ֤י הָראוּבֵנִי֙ לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֔ם וּמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־ הַגָּדִ֖י לְבֵ֣ית אֲבֹתָ֑ם וַחֲצִי֙ מַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה לָקְח֖וּ נַחֲלָתָֽם׃
15These two and a half tribes have received their inheritance across the Jordan from Jericho, toward the sunrise.” 15שְׁנֵ֥י הַמַּטּ֖וֹת וַחֲצִ֣י הַמַּטֶּ֑ה לָקְח֣וּ נַחֲלָתָ֗ם מֵעֵ֛בֶר לְיַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵח֖וֹ קֵ֥דְמָה מִזְרָֽחָה׃ פ
16Then the LORD said to Moses, 16וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
17“These are the names of the men who are to assign the land as an inheritance for you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. 17אֵ֚לֶּה שְׁמ֣וֹת הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־ יִנְחֲל֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־ הָאָ֑רֶץ אֶלְעָזָר֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ בִּן־ נֽוּן׃
18Appoint one leader from each tribe to distribute the land. 18וְנָשִׂ֥יא אֶחָ֛ד נָשִׂ֥יא אֶחָ֖ד מִמַּטֶּ֑ה תִּקְח֖וּ לִנְחֹ֥ל אֶת־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
19These are their names: Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah; 19וְאֵ֖לֶּה שְׁמ֣וֹת הָאֲנָשִׁ֑ים לְמַטֵּ֣ה יְהוּדָ֔ה כָּלֵ֖ב בֶּן־ יְפֻנֶּֽה׃
20Shemuel son of Ammihud from the tribe of Simeon; 20וּלְמַטֵּה֙ בְּנֵ֣י שִׁמְע֔וֹן שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ עַמִּיהֽוּד׃
21Elidad son of Chislon from the tribe of Benjamin; 21לְמַטֵּ֣ה בִנְיָמִ֔ן אֱלִידָ֖ד בֶּן־ כִּסְלֽוֹן׃
22Bukki son of Jogli, a leader from the tribe of Dan; 22וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־ דָ֖ן נָשִׂ֑יא בֻּקִּ֖י בֶּן־ יָגְלִֽי׃
23Hanniel son of Ephod, a leader from the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph; 23לִבְנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף לְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־ מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה נָשִׂ֑יא חַנִּיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ אֵפֹֽד׃
24Kemuel son of Shiphtan, a leader from the tribe of Ephraim [son of Joseph]; 24וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־ אֶפְרַ֖יִם נָשִׂ֑יא קְמוּאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ שִׁפְטָֽן׃
25Eli-zaphan son of Parnach, a leader from the tribe of Zebulun; 25וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־ זְבוּלֻ֖ן נָשִׂ֑יא אֱלִיצָפָ֖ן בֶּן־ פַּרְנָֽךְ׃
26Paltiel son of Azzan, a leader from the tribe of Issachar; 26וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־ יִשָׂשכָ֖ר נָשִׂ֑יא פַּלְטִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ עַזָּֽן׃
27Ahihud son of Shelomi, a leader from the tribe of Asher; 27וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־ אָשֵׁ֖ר נָשִׂ֑יא אֲחִיה֖וּד בֶּן־ שְׁלֹמִֽי׃
28and Pedahel son of Ammihud, a leader from the tribe of Naphtali.” 28וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־ נַפְתָּלִ֖י נָשִׂ֑יא פְּדַהְאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ עַמִּיהֽוּד׃
29These are the ones whom the LORD commanded to apportion the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan. 29אֵ֕לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֖ר צִוָּ֣ה יְהוָ֑ה לְנַחֵ֥ל אֶת־ בְּנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃ פ
