New Living Translation | New International Version |
Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might. | 1For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, "Is not David hiding among us?" Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might. |
Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. | 2Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. They care nothing for God. Interlude | 3Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me-- people without regard for God. |
But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! | 4Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. |
May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them. | 5Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them. |
I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good. |
For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies. | 7You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes. |
