New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might. | 1For the choir director; on stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Is not David hiding himself among us?" Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your power. |
Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. | 2Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. They care nothing for God. Interlude | 3For strangers have risen against me And violent men have sought my life; They have not set God before them. Selah. |
But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! | 4Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul. |
May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them. | 5He will recompense the evil to my foes; Destroy them in Your faithfulness. |
I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6Willingly I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O LORD, for it is good. |
For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies. | 7For He has delivered me from all trouble, And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies. |
