New Living Translation | Holman Christian Standard Bible |
Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might. | 1For the choir director: with stringed instruments. A Davidic Maskil. When the Ziphites went and said to Saul, "Is David not hiding among us?" God, save me by Your name, and vindicate me by Your might! |
Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. | 2God, hear my prayer; listen to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. They care nothing for God. Interlude | 3For strangers rise up against me, and violent men seek my life. They have no regard for God. Selah |
But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! | 4God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my life. |
May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them. | 5He will repay my adversaries for their evil. Because of Your faithfulness, annihilate them. |
I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6I will sacrifice a freewill offering to You. I will praise Your name, Yahweh, because it is good. |
For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies. | 7For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked down on my enemies. |
