Psalm 62
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.1For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.2He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.3How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Interlude4They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah.
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.5My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.6He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.7On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude8Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air.9Men of low degree are only vanity and men of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up; They are together lighter than breath.
Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.10Do not trust in oppression And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.
God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;11Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God;
unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.12And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work.
