New Living Translation | Holman Christian Standard Bible |
O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? | 1For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. LORD, how long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? |
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? | 2How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me? |
Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. | 3Consider me and answer, LORD my God. Restore brightness to my eyes; otherwise, I will sleep in death. |
Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall. | 4My enemy will say, "I have triumphed over him," and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken. |
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. | 5But I have trusted in Your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. |
I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. | 6I will sing to the LORD because He has treated me generously. |
