New King James Version | New Living Translation |
A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; | 1From the depths of despair, O LORD, I call for your help. |
Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. | 2Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. |
If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? | 3LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? |
But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. | 4But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. |
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. | 5I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. |
My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning— Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. | 6I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn. |
O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption. | 7O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. |
And He shall redeem Israel From all his iniquities. | 8He himself will redeem Israel from every kind of sin. |
