| 1Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation. | 1Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time. |
| 2You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; | 2"You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female; |
| 3also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth. | 3also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth. |
| 4For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.” | 4"For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made." |
| 5And Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him. | 5Noah did according to all that the LORD had commanded him. |

| 23So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. | 23Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark. |
| 24And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days. | 24The water prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days. |
