| 1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, | 1Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; |
| 2and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. | 2and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. |

| 11For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. | 11For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. |
| 12Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. | 12Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. |
| 13But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. | 13But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. |
| 14And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. | 14If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame. |
