1A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.”1שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת לְדָ֫וִ֥ד שָׂ֭מַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִ֣ים לִ֑י בֵּ֖ית יְהוָ֣ה נֵלֵֽךְ׃
2Our feet have been standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem!2עֹ֭מְדוֹת הָי֣וּ רַגְלֵ֑ינוּ בִּ֝שְׁעָרַ֗יִךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
3Jerusalem is built As a city that is compact together,3יְרוּשָׁלִַ֥ם הַבְּנוּיָ֑ה כְּ֝עִ֗יר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־ לָּ֥הּ יַחְדָּֽו׃
4Where the tribes go up, The tribes of the LORD, To the Testimony of Israel, To give thanks to the name of the LORD.4שֶׁשָּׁ֨ם עָל֪וּ שְׁבָטִ֡ים שִׁבְטֵי־ יָ֭הּ עֵד֣וּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְ֝הֹד֗וֹת לְשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָֽה׃
5For thrones are set there for judgment, The thrones of the house of David.5כִּ֤י שָׁ֨מָּה ׀ יָשְׁב֣וּ כִסְא֣וֹת לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּ֝סְא֗וֹת לְבֵ֣ית דָּוִֽיד׃
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.6שַׁ֭אֲלוּ שְׁל֣וֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם יִ֝שְׁלָ֗יוּ אֹהֲבָֽיִךְ׃
7Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.”7יְהִֽי־ שָׁל֥וֹם בְּחֵילֵ֑ךְ שַׁ֝לְוָ֗ה בְּאַרְמְנוֹתָֽיִךְ׃
8For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”8לְ֭מַעַן אַחַ֣י וְרֵעָ֑י אֲדַבְּרָה־ נָּ֖א שָׁל֣וֹם בָּֽךְ׃
9Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.9לְ֭מַעַן בֵּית־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁ֖ה ט֣וֹב לָֽךְ׃
