New King James Version | Christian Standard Bible |
To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. | 1God, hear my cry; pay attention to my prayer. |
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. | 2I call to you from the ends of the earth when my heart is without strength. Lead me to a rock that is high above me, |
For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. | 3for you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy. |
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah | 4I will dwell in your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of your wings. Selah |
For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. | 5God, you have heard my vows; you have given a heritage to those who fear your name. |
You will prolong the king’s life, His years as many generations. | 6Add days to the king's life; may his years span many generations. |
He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him! | 7May he sit enthroned before God forever. Appoint faithful love and truth to guard him. |
So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows. | 8Then I will continually sing of your name, fulfilling my vows day by day. |
