The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. | 2The LORD loves the gates of Zion More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob. |
Glorious things are said of you, city of God: | 3Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah. |
"I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me-- Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush -- and will say, 'This one was born in Zion.'" | 4"I shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me; Behold, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia: 'This one was born there.'" |
Indeed, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her." | 5But of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; And the Most High Himself will establish her. |
The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: "This one was born in Zion." | 6The LORD will count when He registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Selah. |
As they make music they will sing, "All my fountains are in you." | 7Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, "All my springs of joy are in you." |
