New International Version | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the mountains-- where does my help come from? | 1A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? |
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. | 2My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. |
He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber; | 3He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. |
indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. | 4Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep. |
The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand; | 5The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. |
the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. | 6The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night. |
The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life; | 7The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. |
the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. | 8The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever. |
