New International VersionKing James Bible
So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the LORD has commanded."1Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.
Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work.2And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:
They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.3And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.
So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing4And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made;
and said to Moses, "The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done."5And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: "No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary." And so the people were restrained from bringing more,6And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.7For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
All those who were skilled among the workers made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by expert hands.8And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them.
All the curtains were the same size--twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.9The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size.
They joined five of the curtains together and did the same with the other five.10And he coupled the five curtains one unto another: and the other five curtains he coupled one unto another.
Then they made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and the same was done with the end curtain in the other set.11And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the uttermost side of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.
They also made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other.12Fifty loops made he in one curtain, and fifty loops made he in the edge of the curtain which was in the coupling of the second: the loops held one curtain to another.
Then they made fifty gold clasps and used them to fasten the two sets of curtains together so that the tabernacle was a unit.13And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains one unto another with the taches: so it became one tabernacle.
They made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle--eleven altogether.14And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them.
All eleven curtains were the same size--thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.15The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: the eleven curtains were of one size.
They joined five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another set.16And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.
Then they made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set.17And he made fifty loops upon the uttermost edge of the curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
They made fifty bronze clasps to fasten the tent together as a unit.18And he made fifty taches of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.
Then they made for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of the other durable leather.19And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers' skins above that.
They made upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.20And he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, standing up.
Each frame was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide,21The length of a board was ten cubits, and the breadth of a board one cubit and a half.
with two projections set parallel to each other. They made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.22One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
They made twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle23And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward:
and made forty silver bases to go under them--two bases for each frame, one under each projection.24And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.
For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, they made twenty frames25And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made twenty boards,
and forty silver bases--two under each frame.26And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
They made six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle,27And for the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.
and two frames were made for the corners of the tabernacle at the far end.28And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.
At these two corners the frames were double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both were made alike.29And they were coupled beneath, and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners.
So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases--two under each frame.30And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets.
They also made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,31And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle.32And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward.
They made the center crossbar so that it extended from end to end at the middle of the frames.33And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other.
They overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also overlaid the crossbars with gold.34And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
They made the curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it by a skilled worker.35And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work.
They made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. They made gold hooks for them and cast their four silver bases.36And he made thereunto four pillars of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver.
For the entrance to the tent they made a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen--the work of an embroiderer;37And he made an hanging for the tabernacle door of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, of needlework;
and they made five posts with hooks for them. They overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold and made their five bases of bronze.38And the five pillars of it with their hooks: and he overlaid their chapiters and their fillets with gold: but their five sockets were of brass.
