Psalm 142
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
1A well-written song by David, when he was in the cave; a prayer. To the LORD I cry out; to the LORD I plead for mercy. 1I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy.
2I pour out my lament before him; I tell him about my troubles. 2I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.
3Even when my strength leaves me, you watch my footsteps. In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me. 3When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.
4Look to the right and see! No one cares about me. I have nowhere to run; no one is concerned about my life. 4I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.
5I cry out to you, O LORD; I say, "You are my shelter, my security in the land of the living." 5Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.
6Listen to my cry for help, for I am in serious trouble! Rescue me from those who chase me, for they are stronger than I am. 6Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.
7Free me from prison, that I may give thanks to your name. Because of me the godly will assemble, for you will vindicate me. 7Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. The godly will crowd around me, for you are good to me.”
