NET Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
A psalm of David, written when he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how numerous are my enemies! Many attack me. 1A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.
Many say about me, "God will not deliver him." (Selah) 2Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah.
But you, LORD, are a shield that protects me; you are my glory and the one who restores me. 3But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
To the LORD I cried out, and he answered me from his holy hill. (Selah) 4I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
I rested and slept; I awoke, for the LORD protects me. 5I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.
I am not afraid of the multitude of people who attack me from all directions. 6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.
Rise up, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Yes, you will strike all my enemies on the jaw; you will break the teeth of the wicked. 7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
The LORD delivers; you show favor to your people. (Selah) 8Salvation belongs to the LORD; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.
