| 3Let them praise his name with dancing! Let them sing praises to him to the accompaniment of the tambourine and harp! | 3Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre! |
| 4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them. | 4For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation. |
| 5Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! Let them shout for joy upon their beds! | 5Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds. |
| 6May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand, | 6Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands, |
| 7in order to take revenge on the nations, and punish foreigners. | 7to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples, |
| 8They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles, | 8to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron, |
| 9and execute the judgment to which their enemies have been sentenced. All his loyal followers will be vindicated. Praise the LORD! | 9to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones. Praise the LORD! |
