| 9The sons of Eliab: Nemuel and Dathan and Abiram. These are the Dathan and Abiram who were called by the congregation, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they contended against the LORD, | 9and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. The same Dathan and Abiram were the community officials who rebelled against Moses and Aaron and were among Korah's followers when they rebelled against the LORD. |

| 53"Among these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names. | 53"The land is to be allotted to them as an inheritance based on the number of names. |
| 54"To the larger group you shall increase their inheritance, and to the smaller group you shall diminish their inheritance; each shall be given their inheritance according to those who were numbered of them. | 54To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one; each is to receive its inheritance according to the number of those listed. |
| 55"But the land shall be divided by lot. They shall receive their inheritance according to the names of the tribes of their fathers. | 55Be sure that the land is distributed by lot. What each group inherits will be according to the names for its ancestral tribe. |
| 56"According to the selection by lot, their inheritance shall be divided between the larger and the smaller groups." | 56Each inheritance is to be distributed by lot among the larger and smaller groups." |
