A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? | 1A song of ascents. I lift my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? |
My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. | 2My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. |
He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. | 3He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. |
Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep. | 4Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep. |
The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. | 5The LORD protects you; the LORD is a shelter right by your side. |
The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night. | 6The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night. |
The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. | 7The LORD will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life. |
The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever. | 8The LORD will protect your coming and going both now and forever. |
