To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. | 1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song. There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion, O God, And to You the vow will be performed. |
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. | 2O You who hear prayer, To You all men come. |
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away. | 3Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You forgive them. |
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. | 4How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to You To dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple. |
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea: | 5By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation, You who are the trust of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest sea; |
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power: | 6Who establishes the mountains by His strength, Being girded with might; |
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people. | 7Who stills the roaring of the seas, The roaring of their waves, And the tumult of the peoples. |
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. | 8They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy. |
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. | 9You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; The stream of God is full of water; You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth. |
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof. | 10You water its furrows abundantly, You settle its ridges, You soften it with showers, You bless its growth. |
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. | 11You have crowned the year with Your bounty, And Your paths drip with fatness. |
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. | 12The pastures of the wilderness drip, And the hills gird themselves with rejoicing. |
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing. | 13The meadows are clothed with flocks And the valleys are covered with grain; They shout for joy, yes, they sing. |
