King James Bible | International Standard Version |
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. | 1God, by your name deliver me, and by your power vindicate me. |
Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. | 2God, listen to my prayer, and pay attention to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. | 3For the arrogant have arisen against me; oppressors have sought to take my life. They do not keep God in mind! Interlude |
Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. | 4Look, God is my helper; the Lord is with those who are guarding my life. |
He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. | 5He will turn the evil upon those who lie in wait for me. Cut them off with your truth. |
I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. | 6With a free will offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, LORD, because it is good, |
For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies. | 7for he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eyes have seen the end of my enemies. |
