A Psalm for Solomon. Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.1Solomonic. God, give Your justice to the king and Your righteousness to the king's son.
He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.2He will judge Your people with righteousness and Your afflicted ones with justice.
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.3May the mountains bring prosperity to the people and the hills, righteousness.
He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.4May he vindicate the afflicted among the people, help the poor, and crush the oppressor.
They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.5May he continue while the sun endures and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.6May he be like rain that falls on the cut grass, like spring showers that water the earth.
In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.7May the righteous flourish in his days and prosperity abound until the moon is no more.
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.8May he rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.
They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.9May desert tribes kneel before him and his enemies lick the dust.
The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.10May the kings of Tarshish and the coasts and islands bring tribute, the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.
Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.11Let all kings bow down to him, all nations serve him.
For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.12For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper.
He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.13He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor.
He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.14He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious in his sight.
And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.15May he live long! May gold from Sheba be given to him. May prayer be offered for him continually, and may he be blessed all day long.
There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.16May there be plenty of grain in the land; may it wave on the tops of the mountains. May its crops be like Lebanon. May people flourish in the cities like the grass of the field.
His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.17May his name endure forever; as long as the sun shines, may his fame increase. May all nations be blessed by him and call him blessed.
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.18May the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonders, be praised.
And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.19May His glorious name be praised forever; the whole earth is filled with His glory. Amen and amen.
The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.20The prayers of David son of Jesse are concluded.
