| 3Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. | 3Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. |
| 4Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. | 4Light shines in the darkness for the upright. He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous. |
| 5A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. | 5Good will come to a man who lends generously and conducts his business fairly. |

| 9He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. | 9He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor. |
| 10The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish. | 10The wicked man will see it and be angry; he will gnash his teeth in despair. The desire of the wicked man will come to nothing. |
