Psalm 142
ISV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNET Bible
1My voice cries out to the LORD; my voice pleads for mercy to the LORD.1A well-written song by David, when he was in the cave; a prayer. To the LORD I cry out; to the LORD I plead for mercy.
2I pour out my complaint to him, telling him all of my troubles.2I pour out my lament before him; I tell him about my troubles.
3Though my spirit grows faint within me, you are aware of my path. Wherever I go, they have hidden a trap for me.3Even when my strength leaves me, you watch my footsteps. In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
4I look to my right and observe— no one is concerned about me. There is nowhere I can go for refuge, and no one cares for me.4Look to the right and see! No one cares about me. I have nowhere to run; no one is concerned about my life.
5So I cry to you, Lord, declaring, "You are my refuge, my only possession while I am on this earth." 5I cry out to you, O LORD; I say, "You are my shelter, my security in the land of the living."
6Pay attention to my cry, for I have been brought very low. Deliver me from my tormentors, for they are far too strong for me.6Listen to my cry for help, for I am in serious trouble! Rescue me from those who chase me, for they are stronger than I am.
7Break me out of this prison, so I can give thanks to your name. The righteous will surround me, for you will deal generously with me.7Free me from prison, that I may give thanks to your name. Because of me the godly will assemble, for you will vindicate me.
