| 8Physical exercise is of limited value, but Godliness is very dear, a pledge of life, both there and here. | 8for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. |

| 11These are the things you must insist on and teach. | 11Command and teach these things. |
