| 3You go before him with wonderful blessings, and put a crown of fine gold on his head. | 3For you meet him with rich blessings; you place a crown of pure gold on his head. |
| 4He asked life from you, and you gave it to him— a long life for ever and ever. | 4He asked you for life, and you gave it to him--length of days forever and ever. |
| 5His glory is great because of your deliverance, you have given him honor and majesty. | 5His glory is great through your victory; you confer majesty and splendor on him. |
| 6Indeed, you have given him eternal blessings; you will make him glad with the joy of your presence. | 6You give him blessings forever; you cheer him with joy in your presence. |
| 7The king trusts in the LORD; because of the gracious love of the Most High, he will stand firm. | 7For the king relies on the LORD; through the faithful love of the Most High he is not shaken. |
| 8Your hand will find all your enemies, your right hand will find those who hate you. | 8Your hand will capture all your enemies; your right hand will seize those who hate you. |
| 9When you appear, you will set them ablaze like a fire furnace. In his wrath, the LORD will consume them, and the fire will devour them. | 9You will make them burn like a fiery furnace when you appear; the LORD will engulf them in his wrath, and fire will devour them. |
| 10You will destroy their descendants from the earth, even their offspring from the ranks of mankind. | 10You will wipe their progeny from the earth and their offspring from the human race. |
| 11Though they plot evil against you and devise schemes, they will not succeed. | 11Though they intend to harm you and devise a wicked plan, they will not prevail. |
| 12Indeed, you will make them retreat, when you aim your bow at their faces. | 12Instead, you will put them to flight when you ready your bowstrings to shoot at them. |
| 13Rise up, LORD, because you are strong; we will sing and praise your power. | 13Be exalted, LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might. |
