Davidic. May the LORD, my rock, be praised, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare. 1A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him; He subdues my people under me. 2My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
LORD, what is man, that You care for him, the son of man, that You think of him? 3LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. 4Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
LORD, part Your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. 5Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
Flash Your lightning and scatter the foe; shoot Your arrows and rout them. 6Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
Reach down from heaven; rescue me from deep water, and set me free from the grasp of foreigners 7Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. 8Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
God, I will sing a new song to You; I will play on a ten-stringed harp for You-- 9I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
the One who gives victory to kings, who frees His servant David from the deadly sword. 10It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
Set me free and rescue me from the grasp of foreigners whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. 11Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style. 12That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all kinds of produce; our flocks will increase by thousands and tens of thousands in our open fields. 13That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
Our cattle will be well fed. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, and no cry of lament in our public squares. 14That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
Happy are the people with such blessings. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh. 15Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
