| 2to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, | 2It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, |
| 3to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. | 3accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, a harp, and the melody of a lyre. |
| 4For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. | 4You thrill me, LORD, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. |
| 5How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep! | 5O LORD, what great works you do! And how deep are your thoughts. |
| 6The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: | 6Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this: |
| 7that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; | 7Though the wicked sprout like weeds and evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever. |

| 10But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have poured over me fresh oil. | 10But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil. |
