| 4They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. | 10Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them. | 10Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life. |
| 11Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, | 11God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you; |
| 12and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work. | 12unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done. |
