| 6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— | 6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of the Messiah and, instead, are following a different gospel, |
| 7not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. | 7not that another one really exists. To be sure, there are certain people who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel about the Messiah. |
| 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. | 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that person be condemned! |
| 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. | 9What we have told you in the past I am now telling you again: If anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that person be condemned! |
| 10For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. | 10Am I now trying to win the approval of people or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be the Messiah's servant. |
| 11For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. | 11For I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human origin. |
| 12For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. | 12For I did not receive it from a man, nor was I taught it, but it was revealed to me by Jesus the Messiah. |
| 13For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. | 13For you have heard about my earlier life in Judaism—how I kept violently persecuting God's church and was trying to destroy it. |
| 14And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. | 14I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries, because I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors. |
| 15But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, | 15But when God, who set me apart before I was born and who called me by his grace, was pleased |

| 23They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” | 23The only thing they kept hearing was this: "The man who used to persecute us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy!" |
| 24And they glorified God because of me. | 24So they kept glorifying God for what had happened to me. |
