Christian Standard Bible | New Living Translation |
Praise is rightfully yours, God, in Zion; vows to you will be fulfilled. | 1What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you, |
All humanity will come to you, the one who hears prayer. | 2for you answer our prayers. All of us must come to you. |
Iniquities overwhelm me; only you can atone for our rebellions. | 3Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all. |
How happy is the one you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple. | 4What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts. What festivities await us inside your holy Temple. |
You answer us in righteousness, with awe-inspiring works, God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the distant seas. | 5You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas. |
You establish the mountains by your power; you are robed with strength. | 6You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength. |
You silence the roar of the seas, the roar of their waves, and the tumult of the nations. | 7You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations. |
Those who live far away are awed by your signs; you make east and west shout for joy. | 8Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy. |
You visit the earth and water it abundantly, enriching it greatly. God's stream is filled with water, for you prepare the earth in this way, providing people with grain. | 9You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so. |
You soften it with showers and bless its growth, soaking its furrows and leveling its ridges. | 10You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops. |
You crown the year with your goodness; your carts overflow with plenty. | 11You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. |
The wilderness pastures overflow, and the hills are robed with joy. | 12The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy. |
The pastures are clothed with flocks and the valleys covered with grain. They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing. | 13The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy! |
