Blessed be the LORD, my rock who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare. | 1A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: |
He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in him; he subdues my people under me. | 2My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. |
LORD, what is a human that you care for him, a son of man that you think of him? | 3LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! |
A human is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. | 4Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away. |
LORD, part your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. | 5Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. |
Flash your lightning and scatter the foe; shoot your arrows and rout them. | 6Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them. |
Reach down from on high; rescue me from deep water, and set me free from the grasp of foreigners | 7Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; |
whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. | 8Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. |
God, I will sing a new song to you; I will play on a ten-stringed harp for you-- | 9I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee. |
the one who gives victory to kings, who frees his servant David from the deadly sword. | 10It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword. |
Set me free and rescue me from foreigners whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. | 11Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: |
Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style. | 12That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: |
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all kinds of produce; our flocks will increase by thousands and tens of thousands in our open fields. | 13That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: |
Our cattle will be well fed. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, and no cry of lament in our public squares. | 14That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets. |
Happy are the people with such blessings. Happy are the people whose God is the LORD. | 15Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD. |
